After I came back from Zhang Jia Jie National Park, I found that I had a new understanding of landscape poetry by these excellent (landscape) poets. Today, I would like to introduce a new Chinese classical poem by Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai -- Du Zuo Jingting Shan -- Sitting Alone Below Jingting Mountain.

Li Bai has written many poems about landscapes and most of them are very long. So, thinking of the recording time, I have mostly introduced Jue Ju -- Chinese four-lined verse with five or seven characters to each line.

Li Bai was a poet who often imagined natural things, such as a mountain or a river, as a person who has life and he often wrote poetry to express his inner feelings towards a mountain or a river.

In this poem he wrote how he and Jingting Mountain admire each other as two good friends.

As usual, I wrote a piece of music to go with it and hope my effort will be a little help to you in knowing more about Chinese culture.

Sitting Alone Below Jingting Mountain

All the birds have flown away loftily,
The lone cloud has also drifted to be free,
