Planning for the New Year...Shirley's 68th Friendly Greeting... Sun, Dec 17, 2006

Hi,Dear Friends
 How are you? Have you had a good week? I do hope everything is well with you and had an easy weekend.
This week, there are so many things happening, so that I do not know where I should start now.
Simply speaking, the biggest thing in the city is to welcome the International University Student League to check out of the work for applying to be the host qualification of the 26th International University Students Sports.
The biggest thing in the company is to collect the account receivable before the end of this year. It seems like we will create a good revenue that is exceeding our target, while we are making the summary of 2006 and plan the work for 2007. Except my researching work, I am working a small test project ? around of the yearly reports of the listed companies, fund companies and stockjobbers, to organize our special news reports, investigation, service and activity via our TV, magazine,newspaper, web sites, mobile phone system via some new running model.
In my mind, I am also planning my own work and life for 2007 and for later coming time. I am going to work harder to help the company to develop and to train the young managers as many as possible. To think of retiring from my current position at a suitable time, I mean that is earlier than the regular age for most of people, then to live as a normal woman while working on art, music, language and studying culture, translating and writing via my own work platform ? Shirley's World -, to pursue my dreams from my childhood and I have prepared for this time already about 4 years. However, if there is not anything that I am wishing to happen during the time as I am expecting, I will think of making a little investment on an art studio in the realistic society and entrust someone to manage it as I have done to entrust someone to manage my another investment on the other project. Now, I do think this is a really good management style on some of my own things? to focus myself on something that I really love to do and to entrust the others to work on something that they are really good in via some contracts. I do think maybe this is also a management art in the individual life field. I will not make a decision soon. I need time to see, to think and to make a decision.
How about you? Do you have any plan for 2007 and your coming life and work? What will you do for the unit that you are working for and what is your work and life target in the new year?

Shirley Created Art--Chinese Xieyi 0109: Funny
My teacher thought that the biggest problem on my color usage is that I often use a too bright color, that is why I spent so much time to correct the colors of my 23rd Chinese Gongbi Painting from too green to be darker. For helping me to use colors, I was taught to paint Chinese Wash Painting-- to paint just with water and Chinese black ink. Anyway, I still used the other colors on this picture. My teacher gave me 85 marks for the color on the back of the bird, it looks like too "dead" when there is no any change. The guava's seeds seem like to be too regular and the insect is too big. I do agree with the comments. How do you think of this picture? Do you agree with my teacher?

Shirley Created Art -- Gouache 0100: Black Hole
I had not painted any Gouache for one year already. Anyway, I painted my 100th gouache picture on Tuesday night. For I had an inspiration, after I had touched a totally new term --Black Hole--. I was thinking that, since it is something that really exists in the universe and it is attracting all kind of things around into it and no one have really seen it, then it is really something best to make an art create according to my imagination. So I created this picture, according to my limited knowledge about Black Hole, quickly and I did feel comfortable when I created it. Once more, I felt the happiness and peaceful feelings when I was playing my colors. Now there is another picture about it in my mind already. Can you guess out what it is like?

Shirly Sung China (Qinghai) Folk Song--042: In the Far Away Place
The more I learn to sing, the more I want to re-record the songs on the web site because I hope to improve the quality of it. So, in my vocal music lesson this weekend, my teacher directed me to review and re-record a Chinese Qinghai folk song that I learned for the first time in August, 2005 . At that time, I had felt very tired to sing it, but, this time, I did feel enjoyment to sing it! People, include Westerners, enjoy this song very much. So, Last Oct, in the Concert of Carreras in Shenzhen, I was lucky to hear Carreras to sing it in person.

Chinese Classical Poem 0070 & Shirley Created Music-0060: Bai Yun Quan -- The White Cloud Spring
It is for a long time, that I wrote and played and recorded my music quickly, but today I do it in about 4 hours. The more I sang it, the more I felt from the little poem -- There is a White Cloud Spring on the Mountains, there is not any mood in the hearts of the clouds and the spring water is so leisurely and easy. Both of them are thinking that there is not any needing to rush down of the mountains to add more waves to the world. That makes me thinking of a Chinese phrase -- Hebi duo shi -- since everything has its own location. Why they need to change themselves and to add anything needless? I do not think this is a very positive emotion, but it is not a bad feeling and maybe it can help the health of people sometimes with an easy life attitude. Do you agree with the poet ?

I am just a learner on art, music, English and the work on the web site in my free time. Anyway, I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be An Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship, and Language Learning. During the process to help the others and to improve myself.
