Title: Professor Li Kuizheng - Tutor of Doctoral Students Gave Us a Lecture at Teaching Department of Chinese Painting School at CNAA -Oct 14, 2014
Artist:
Size:
Completed Time: Oct 14, 2014
Remarks:
In the morning, Oct 14, 2014, Professor Li Kuizheng, a tutor of doctoral students of Minzu University of China gave us a lecture about how to inherit our own art tradition while to learn Western art in today's China.

I did have much gain from his lecture, mainly on something relates:

-- Art must hold its social responsibility to service human being and to purify people's souls.

-- Artist must has his or her belief, become a better person at the first, then he or she can stand his or her social responsibility.

-- The main difference between Chinese art tradition and Western art tradition, such as on conceptions, modeling (shape making),usage style of light and colors and so on...

Especially, I do feel that Professor Li Kuizheng¨s lesson has really given confidence to me so much. Because he told us, no matter when you start to learn art, no matter where you are from and no matter whether you are from an academy of arts or not, you can be successful as long as you are keeping going on a right road. After all, there were 40 students who started to learn art from the best teachers and professors with him together since 50¨s, now there are only 2 people still painting today, 95% of them have given up on the halfway, only 5% of people who are keeping going on their dreams have been successful and became the tutors of doctoral students´

Also, I got a book list that I should read from him.

With so much appreciation, as soon as the lecture was finished, I bought more than 10 books, mainly on traditional Chinese painting structure design, colors usage and how to paint Chinese Gongbi and Mogu Paintings...

During his lesson, I did have a feeling that Chinese Mogu painting is just like a stream flowing to the modern China. Because, among 3 of the 9 professors I have met since Sept, are working on researching on Chinese Mogu Painting. And it was just something I wish to major in and mainly work on in my future art study and working jobs... Because I do feel Chinese Mogu is nearest Western Water colors, and it is between Chinese Gongbi and Chinese Xieyi Painting... :- ) Therefore, it is something that needs wider range of his knowledge and many more skills´

It is more difficult, it is something I want to do on it. :- )
