Title: Chinese Gongbi--021(Flower & Bird): Water Lily and Mandarin Duck |
Artist: Shirley Zhang |
Size: 39cm x 63cm |
Completed Time: Sat, July 29,2006 |
Remarks: This is my 21st Chinese Gongbi ? Realistic Painting. I have completed it for many days, but, I have not put it on my web site until now.
I have almost forgotten the feelings when I just completed it. Just felt that I needed to do more practice more to know how to paint a picture on a piece of silk. :-) Also, in my art lesson Wednesday evening, I made a decision to learn Chinese Calligraphy.
After painting 99 Gouaches, 21 Chinese Gongbi pictures and 92 Chinese Xiyi picture, I wanted to start to write my picture number, my name and the titles of my pictures' with Chinese calligraphy from my 100th Xieyi picture and 100th Gouache instead of English again, because calligraphy is a very important part of Chinese painting.
In Chinese painting field, a good Chinese picture usually should have poem, calligraphy, picture and stamp 4 parts on it. Now mine usually have picture and stamp 2 parts, there are not poem and calligraphy on it yet. So, I will try to work hard to make them to be on my pictures in the coming time, maybe in 2 months.
I do feel that there are so many things to learn on my learning road. Learning something new will be a very important part to accompany whole of my last a half life.
