Title: Chinese Gongbi -- 012(Flower, Bird & Character): Let Us Go Flying!
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 88cm x 66cm
Completed Time: Sat, Nov 19, 2005
Remarks:
This is my 12th Chinese Gong Bi picture. :-) First time£¬I painted a chrysanthemum with Gong Bi style. I drafted it for about 1 week and colored it for over 50 hours. On my art lesson on Wednesday evening, my teacher was so glad for my draft and thought that I have made a big progress on my Chinese Gong Bi painting because a chrysanthemum is the most difficult flower to paint. My teacher did not correct anything on my draft, but,, directed me to color a pink chrysanthemum on the right and down part of the picture. Then I colored all of the other parts alone. My teacher had a little bit worried whether I would destroy whole of the picture if I colored anything wrong. However, today, after I finished the background and I realized that I had made big mistake. I should color the slope part with more transparent colors. But, it can not be corrected again. So, I have to remember this lesson. :-)
