Remarks: This is my 506th Painting since 2003 and my 46th Chinese Bai Mao.
I had been worrying whether my eyes would be able to recover enough to paint a Chinese Gongbi, since it has been very difficult for me to read, write, and paint.
So that day, when I could not see clearly on the computer once again at the Art Gallery of Missouri State University, four of my professors ! Dr. Park, Dr. Kent, Dr. Hamers, and another professor whom I did not know ! came to see me. Suddenly seeing so many professors and hearing them ask how I was doing, tears could not help flowing out of my eyes... just like a little student who had lost the ability to learn, a bird who had broken her wings...
However, with the kind help of Mrs. Pat Hitch, I saw some doctors and bought much medicine to take with me...
Can you imagine? On the second airplane flight from Chicago to Tokyo, I created my first two drafts for my Chinese Bai Miao and Gongbi.
Today, with the help of eye drop medication, I completed my first Chinese Bai Miao since December 2009.
Even though I wanted to continue working and complete it as a Chinese Gongbi, the pain and discomfort in my eyes told me that if I wanted to work for a long time and create more paintings, I must rest.
So, I will try to color it later.
This is the first time that I have created an eagle in the Chinese Bai Miao style. I did not used to like creating overly ferocious birds before.
But this time, on the airplane, when I read my large bird book ! which led me to pay a $100 penalty because my luggage was too heavy ! for the first time, I realized that an eagle is not only very brave and fierce, but also very tender at times. :-) I felt this through a photo in my book already.
Just like the qualities of a true hero ! they are not only brave and strong when facing their enemies or in harsh environments, but they are also quite soft and tender among their friends and family members...
With this understanding of the eagle, I created it, and I would really like to express both aspects of its character together...
How do you think of this painting? Do you enjoy it?
