Title: Shirley Created Art 524 - Chinese Xieyi -293: Miss - August 7, 2010
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 90cm x 50cm (35.43inches x 19.68inches)
Completed Time: August 7, 2010
Remarks:
This is my 293rd Chinese Xieyi Painting and my 524th painting since 2003. Also, it is the 55 (80th) painting (practice) that I have created in 2010.

August 9, 2010 is the 3 anniversary that my first American art and music teacher Mr. Charlie K passed away.

So, today, Saturday, August 7, 2010, I went to my office in the morning to correct 2 work reports, then I came back home to create this painting for my teacher.

I do hope that my teacher¨s soul is peaceful, lucky and happy in the heaven.

Even though I do not think this is the best painting of mine, even though there are many problems on the painting, but, since peacock is one of the most beautiful birds in the world, I really hope it will bring my teacher a big smile and feels comfort and happiness for his student.

Even though I do not feel comfortable on my body with the ache here or there, my heart is quite delight.

Do you know? My Chinese art professor has not offered any demonstration in his lesson for me for a long time, he just asks me to create freely, then he comments my works.

He told me that my Chinese painting level has been higher than many art student from the art college. Therefore, he is making a new plan for me to learn Western painting... then, in his opinions, my Chinese painting level will get much more improve via learning Western painting style...

Right now, the first thing he asks me to do, is to go out of the room, to go into the nature to paint from the nature...

Anyway, can you imagine? At this time, a new painting that includes at least 10 peacocks have jumped into my mind. The problem is there is no so big place for me to create it...

I am feeling the limitation of the room to my imagination more and more... I need to find a bigger room to express my thinking and creating...

I am smiling right now for I have had an idea, to pain in the sky or land, let them as my paper and room... :-) How do you think of this idea? Do you think this dream will be true? :-)

I am sure that my American Art and Music Teacher Mr. Charlie K will smile when he knows this idea from his Chinese student. ;-)

How do you think of this painting? Do you think that I have made a little bit progress?
