Title: Shirley's Art 572 & Chinese Mogu Painting-016: Memory - Shirley Painted It for My Deceased American Teacher in CAFA, March 11-14, 2011
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 23.5cm x 130cm (9.21inches x 51.18inches)
Completed Time: March 14, 2011
Remarks:
This is my 17th Chinese Mogu Painting and my 572nd painting since 2003. Also, it is my 55th assignment in China Central Academy of Fine Arts.

I painted this painting for memorizing my deceased American art and music teacher Mr. Charlie K. and to celebrate his birthday on March 17.

March 17, 2003, since I painted my first painting after stopped for more than 20 years, 8 years have past, my painting for my teacher has been changed from celebrating his birthday to memorizing the anniversary of his death, and the art pursuit in my heart has not been changed for one day.

I do hope that the bird on the tree and the flowers in the painting will bring my teacher a big smile in the heaven and I do hope that he will see my progress and be proud of his student in the far away sky.

I am going to do my best to continue my teacher¨s art dream.

Mr. Charlie K. will be alive in my heart forever.
