Title: Shirley's Art Works 588 & Chinese Xieyi 315-Landscape 045- Shirley Learned to Paint It from Mr. Gong Xian in CAFA, March 21- 25, 2011
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 51.50cm x 102cm (20.27inches x 40.15inches)
Completed Time: March 25, 2011
Remarks:

This is and my 588th painting since 2003, the 415th Chinese Xieyi Painting, the 45th Landscape ( the 4th Chinese Ink Landscape), and my 68th assignment in China Central Academy of Fine Arts.

One of biggest gains in CAFA is that I have learned something that had not touched before in Chinese painting field.

If saying the Chinese Mugo Painting has opened a new field of the flower and bird painting for me, then to Chinese ink Landscape Painting has opened a nother window for me in the landscape field, let me say something relates to something deeper in Chinese culture heritage.

Since people respected the landscape painting as the orthodox of the Chinese literati painting since Qing Dynasty, that has aroused my huge interest in it. :-)

Therefore, even though I had missed all of the lessons for 4 week¨s last term for I was hospitalized at that time, I have been keep catching it by the good help from Mr. Li Gang who is our tutor of the class.

It is said that in the last term, the instructors Mr. Liu Rong and Mr. Qiu Ting had required every student to paint 6 landscape paintings by learning from Mr. Gong, and by learning from Mr. Shi Tao.

Now I have completed 4 paintings by learning from Mr. Gong Xian, and I have been attracted by his painting deeply, so that I have not found time to learn from Mr. Shi Tao.

So, I am thinking that maybe I should hand in a formal application, and hope the Chinese Painting School of SAFA allow me to learn the lessons for 10 weeks that I have missed in the next class of 2011.

To be honest, I do not think of that I have done a good job on the painting as I wished. I have painted most of the lines too strong and there is no the necessary changes at all. So, I had thought to give up it when I realized the problem. However, instead of giving up it, I keep completing it with million and million points and lines by Chinese ink. Because I thought, it is also a gain to realize the problem in the painting and try to pay more attention to avoid the same mistake. :-)

What I should also learn is the strong and stable of the mountains that I have painted, to work on a dream and anything we should do firmly and continuously.

How do you think of my idea? Do you enjoy this painting?

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, welcome to write to shirley@ebridge.cn or shirleyz004@yahoo.com ,you can also publish your opinions on Message Board . :-)
