This is my 87th Combined Paintingthat I have created / painted for Chinese Classical Poetry, and my 842 painting since 2003 ; also, it is my 232nd assignment at Chinese National Academy of Arts.

I re-painted a painting to match the Chinese classical poem below:

Main Meaning of the Poem

Ode to the New Moon

by Miu Shi Zi (Tang Dynasty)

The little new moon (ah) is like an undrawn bow (ya),
Clearly, it is hanging in the blue sky.
People should not say it is too small as an pretty eyebrow.
It will be round & light up the world in the fifteen night.

Chinese Characters & Pronunciations:

You can click on any Chinese Character to open the New Character Board and to see its Chinese pinyin, meaning, pronunciation and follow me to read it, you can also click the links over to enter the Painting Column,or you can directly enter the art notes on the painting that I created for this poem to see my painting and art notes for the poem

赋新月

缪氏子

初月如弓未上弦
分明挂在碧霄边
时人莫道蛾眉小
三五团圆照满天

I created the first painting for the poem in June 29, 2007 and created a music for it at the same time. Since then, 6 years have passed, when I check the painting, music, translation and assay, I do not feel any of them is ideal. So, I have tried to do all of the things this week.

I do hope my effort will be some help with you to learn Chinese culture and language.

Below is the painting I created in 2007. Which one is better in your opinion?
