Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 34.00cm x 30.00 cm ( 13.38 inches x 11.81 inches)
Completed Time: May 7, 2014
Remarks:
This is my 38th Chinese Mogu Painting and my 883rd painting since 2003.

Also, it is my 279th assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts.

Three of my tutors Mr. Wu Tong, Mr. Sun Qi and Mr. Ren Ming saw my last My Last Chinese Mogu painting on the wall on May 5, 6 and 7 and all of them gave me a same comment: very good, very elegance, and all of them suggested me to go on this road in the future.

I was so happy for it was also my idea because Chinese Mogu is really my favorite painting.

Since I touched this kind of painting in China Center Academy of Arts in 2011, I felt I enjoyed it. Then after having 6 lessons by Professor Pan Ying in Chinese National Academy of Arts, I more enjoyed it.

I am thinking: since the future target market of my cross-culture and comprehensive art project is in America, Australia and Europe. Chinese Mogu is nearest the Western water color paintings; also, in China, compare with Chinese Gongbi and Chinese Xieyi, there are few Chinese artists paint this way. Therefore, it maybe just the road that I should go.

So, I am going to mainly study Chinese Mogo Painting in traditional Chinese paintings.

Anyway, can you imagine? Last night, after I had made colors and every thing ok and just colored a branch in the classroom at 8:10p.m., suddenly, the music outside stopped ( each night, many middle age ladies dance in time at 7:30p.m. to 9:30p.m.), that made me think it maybe rain? Then, in a hurry, I rushed back home. After a simple dinner, I wanted to continue to color it, but I could not find white and yellow colors in my color boxes. So I went out to buy them at about 10:00p.m. and there was no any in the 2 supermarkets and the art stores had been closed already.

Then I went back to the classrooms at 10:10 p.m. there were lights on the second floor, the gate of the building was clocked inside. Thinking of the time was too later, instead of calling my classmates outside the building, I went back back home and cut some old tubs of the colors and used the dry colors inside, and basically finished the job at 1:00a.m. Then I completed this painting in this morning.

Because the paper seeps somewhere, so that you see many places of the paintings, the lines are not soigne. However, since the plants in the water, it has created a special artistic result naturally. Right? :-)

How do you think of this painting, do you enjoy it?
