This is my 42nd Combined Paintingthat I created for Chinese Classical Poetry, andmy 531 painting since 2003.Also, it is the 62nd(89th) painting (practice) that I have done in 2010.

After having a complex CT Saturday morning and took the report back Sunday mornings. With an easy heart, I created this painting for a new Chinese classical poem.

I would like to express how the beautiful music that was played by Sheng - a Chinese Reed Pipe Wind Instrument sounds like:

It is just like a phoenix singing from the other side of the colored clouds, the lovely music attracted the poet so much, so that he went out of his house to find it. However, all of the gates are close so that he did not know where the music came from. So, he could not help thinking that maybe it was from the fairyland that was full of the peach blossom...

I wanted to express the beautiful tone of the music with the phoenix that is flying over the land by the garden of pean blossoms of the heaven and the sun, I wanted to express a piece of music with a painting...

In fact, I had created the music for the poem in 2006. This week, except creating the painting, I have re-translated the poem, re-written the comments and also I tried to play the music and re-sung it for you.

You can hit any Chinese character below to open the New Word Board, to hit the link over, to enter the language column and to read and listen to my explanation of this poem.

I do hope that my effort will be some help with you to learn Chinese cultures...

MAIN MEANING OF THE POEM:

Listen to a Neighbor Playing Sheng

By Lang Shiyuan (Tang)

As a phoenix is singing over the colored clouds,
I wonder which neighbor is playing the lovely music.
All the gates are locked tightly,
I can't find where it is from,
Doubt it's from a fairyland with thousands of the peach blossoms.
