Remarks: This is my 785th painting since 2003and the 426th Chinese Xieyi Painting, the 179th assignment that I have completed in Chinese National Academy of Arts .
This is the 20th painting of the series stories ゞ屈噴膨丐〃: Er Shi Si Xiao Tu -- The Twenty-Four Dutiful Children . I painted it by learning from Mr. Ren Bonian,
This story names 地忱図幢伏桝 - Meng Zong Ku Zhu Sheng Sun -- Meng Zong Cried by the Bamboo and Bamboo Shoots Grew out in the Winter.
Meng Zong lived in Jiang Xia (in Today's Hubei Province) in the Three Kingdoms times (220-265).
When he was young, his father was dead and his mother raised his grow up. Once, his old mother was very sick, the doctor suggested him to cook a soup with the fresh bamboo shoot to treat her.
However, it was just in the winter, there was no any fresh bamboo shoot yet. There was no way, Meng Zong run into the bamboo forest, held up a bamboo to cry. After a short while, suddenly he heard the sound of the land cracking up, a several fresh bamboo shoots grew out of the ground.
With so much happiness, Meng Zong picked up the fresh bamboo shoots and cooked the soup for his mother. After eating the soup of bamboo shoots, his mother was cured finally.
Then, Meng Zong became a high rank officer named Si Kong. I could not help smiling when I painted this painting so that I would really like to express the moved story with the lines of Chinese painting as careful as possibe... :-)
How do you think of my new painting? Do you enjoy it?
I really hope that my effort will be some help with you to learn Chinese culture and art.
