Title: Shirley Created Art 523 - Chinese Xieyi -292 Peacock Practice- August 4, 2010
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 90cm x 50cm (35.43inches x 19.68inches)
Completed Time: August 4, 2010
Remarks:
is is my 292ndChinese Xieyi Painting and my 523rd painting since 2003. Also, it is the 54 (79th) painting (practice) that I have created in 2010.

I have been wanting to create a peacock since I re-started to learn to paint in 2003. But, I could not paint it out. In 2008, when I was a student in the US, my Chinese teacher sent me my homework list. On of my them was to paint a peacock, however, I could not paint it out at that time. So, I created several paintings of golden pheasant to hand in my homework. :-)

Until the end of 2009, when I was in the hospital, I painted my first peacock with pen. Then, I made it to be a Chinese Baimiaoand I hoped to color it to be a Chinese Gongbi Painting...

Since my eyes do not support me to paint a Chinese Gongbi yet. This week, I created my first Peacock painting with Chinese Xieyi style.

Since my teacher has not taught me how to color it, I read many books and I saw about 180 photos of peacocks, to think and to teach myself... finally, completed it finally. :-)

Even though I did not satisfy it at all, I was really happy for my trying.

How do you think of this painting, do you like it?
