Title: My Sketch from Nature- 105: Shirley's 65th Assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts -April 20-21, 2012
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 41.00cm x 31cm ( 20.05inches x 16.14inches) Pen on Sketchbook
Completed Time: April 21, 2012
Remarks:
This is my 13rd sketch from nature since April 7 and I painted it in the garden of the peach blossoms near the school in Beijing April 20 to 21.

After completing the sketch of the white peach blossoms, I started to paint the pink peach flowers. Even though I had painted many peach blossoms in the passed several years, this is the first time I paint it in the so near distance with a so carefully style. So that I went to the same peach tree 4 times and worked on it for about 8 hours, then I completed this sketch.

It was drizzling in the second time I went to paint. When I looked at the flowers in the rains, I did worry about them and I was afraid of them will wither soon, so, I took an umbrella and painted them in the rain. I did not know why the rain wet my sketch book when I was under an umbrella, but my pen did not work on the too wet paper.

Then, in the early morning next day, I went to paint it third time, it was very cold so that I had to go back home after painting for about 1 hours, then I went to paint in the feather dress in the afternoon´

However, as soon as I finished it, I found that I should not paint the right part too high so that the structure has some problem. Also, my tutor Mr Lu pointed that I should not paint the middle part, also I should avoided appearing any triangle as I did on the right part of the painting...

How do you think of this sketch? Do you enjoy it?
