This is my 787th painting since 2003and the 429th Chinese Xieyi Painting, the 183rd assignment that I have completed in Chinese National Academy of Arts .

This is the 7th painting that I painted for the series stories ゞ屈噴膨丐〃: Er Shi Si Xiao Tu -- The Twenty-Four Dutiful Children .

This story names 途箆喊畑埔扇: Pang Shi Yong Quan Yue Li - Carps Jump out of the Spring for Lady Pang.

Jiang Shi lived in Guanghai, Sichuan Province in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220). He got marry the daughter of Pang. Both of the husband and wife were quite filial piety.

Between the the Yangtse River and the house of them, there was 6 or 7 mile. Knowing the mother-in-law of lady Pang enjoy drinking the water of the Yangtse River, so, lady Pang often went to the Yangtse River to carry the water for her mother-in-law.

Knowing the mother-in-law enjoy eating fish, both of husband and wife often cooked fish for their mother. Since the old lady did not want to eat alone, they invited a neighbour - another old lady to share the fish.

One day, because the wind was strong, lady Pang carried the water back home later. His husband misunderstood her neglected his mother so that drove her out of the home.

When lady Pang had to live with her neighbours, she still worked on spinning to make money and entrusted her nerghbour to send whole of her income to her mother-in-law.

Later, her mother-in-law knew the situation that she has been driven out of the home, she asked his son to pick up his wife -lady Pang back home .

At the day lady Pang came back home, suddenly a spring spewed out of the yard, the taste was as same as the water of the Yangtse River, and since then, every, there were to carps jumped out of the water.

Since then, lady Pang could served her mother-in-law with the water of the spring in the yard and the carps from the water in her yard and she did not need to go to the the Yangtse River again...

How do you think of the story and my painting of the story?

I really hope that my effort will be some help with you to learn Chinese culture and art.
