Title: Shirley's Art Works 849 & Chinese Xieyi 446-A211 - Shirley's 239th Assignment of Chinese National Academy of Arts -Dec 9-10, 2013-completed in USA-17
Artist: Shirley Yiping Zhang
Size: 40.00cm x 153.00cm (15.74 inches x 60.23 inches)
Completed Time: Dec 10, 2013
Remarks:
This is my 446Chinese Xieyi Painting and my 849th painting since 2003, the 239th assignment of Chinese National Academy of Arts.

J¨© ( ¼¦ ) £¬no matter rooster or chicken, because their Chinese pronunciation is same as the other word J¨ª ( ¼ª ) , means lucky.

So, in China, people often send a painting of rooster or chicken as a gift to wish the people good luck.

With the same idea, I painted this painting in a heavy snow day in my travel in Springfield, MO, USA. I do hope the friends who have seen it will be happy and lucky now and in the new year.

Since I have not painted for a long time, I felt that my hands a little bit rusty. However, when I finished it, my heart was so happy because this has the third painting since Dec 2, since I had my new painting board in my travel. :-)

How do you think of this painting? Do you like it?
