Enjoying Chinese Music by My Music Advisor and Professor
Since Nov., 2002, I have learned to sing and compose from 4 music teachers. Among of them, Professor Weiye Meng not only coached me to sing, compose, but also he directed me to record 54 songs for the first two volumes of the series publications as my music advisor and piano accompanist. In September, 2016, he has also sung 3 of songs for the second volume in your hands. Therefore, when I reviewed the music and songs to edit the publication in the USA in Feb., 2017, suddenly I had an idea, why didn’t I invite him to join the group of my painting professors which I had invited? So, I did.
I really hope you will get some new feelings about Chinese culture by enjoying the music (in the DVD) by not only me, but also my professor.
A Composer, Singer and Music Educator —蒙伟业Weiye Meng
蒙伟业教授Prof. Weiye Meng, graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music of China and he was chosen to learn from Italian Musician—Prof. Gino Bechi face to face. He was a music Instructor of Guangxi Academy of Arts and Professor of Music Department at Guangxi Normal University.
Prof. Weiye Meng is the composer of the Shenzhen City Song, Head of the Bass Department of Chorus of the Musicians Association of Shenzhen, performed in more than 20 countries in Europe, Americas and Asia and got a lot of international medals.
He won an excellent singer award of the 3rd National Young Singers CCTV Competition and the gold award of the Young Singer Contest of Shenzhen in 1988. His compotation Shenzhen Is Just Like A Fire won the Golden Medal in the National Composition Contest for Shenzhen Economic Zone’s 15 Anniversary of the Establishment in 1995.
